and celebrated kitchens. Also included in the package are some exclusive private cooking sessions with top chefs providing you with their culinary secrets.

Taste of India – Details
- This is a 19 day cultural and culinary tour of India, covering New Delhi, Agra, Ranthambhore, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Goa and Mumbai
- The dates of this tour in India are Feb 01, 2011 to Feb 20, 2011.
- Cost : $ 9,950 per person (taxes included) on a double occupancy sharing basis. Please contact Lara Cowan at 604.762.5250 for single supplement pricing.
- The above price is quoted with the proviso that should there be an increase in the price of fuel or taxes, the price quoted above is subject to change.
- This is a intended to be a small tour, so space is limited to a maximum of 16 people.

| ||Day 1 : Fly into New Delhi and meet with Tour Manager at the airport who will be waiting to welcome you to India. Check in at “The Imperial”, New Delhi’s landmark hotel reminiscent of colonial India. You can choose to rest after your flight and then go shopping at Delhi’s famous Janpath Market. |
Day 2 : Sightseeing of Old and New Delhi
| ||Day 3 : Early breakfast and drive to Agra (approximately 4 hours) |
Check in at Oberoi Amarvilas, listed on Condé Nast as one of the world’s top luxury resorts.
Rest for a while and then be prepared to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the majestic Taj Mahal by sunset!
Day 4 : After breakfast, we continue sightseeing and then return back to your luxury hotel where you can rest or explore the fantastic spa the property is known for.
| ||Day 5 : We start our day right after breakfast. Drive to Ranthambhore, one of India’s largest and most renowned National Parks in |
Northern India. Check in at Oberoi Vanyavilas, another luxury property of the Oberoi chain of hotels. This property has been ranked #1 in the world, according to Travel + Leisure, USA 2010 Readers’ poll. Relax for the rest of the day as you explore the property at your own pace.
Day 6 : We start off by heading to the Ranthambhore National Park,
for an early safari. This is known to be one of the best places to see India’s exotic wild like, including the Indian Tiger.
Return to the hotel and relax for the rest of the day.
| ||Day 7 : After breakfast we leave for Jaipur by car (approximately 3.5 hours). Check-in at Oberoi Rajvilas, another luxury offering from the Oberoi Luxury group. This property has been ranked as the 3rd Best Resort among the top 15 resorts in Asia, by Travel + Leisure 2010. Rest for a while and early that evening, we will visit Jaipur’s City Palace and Jantar Mantar, the largest astronomical stone observatory in the world! After that we would recommend winding down for a late afternoon tea at the Rambagh Palace, one of the residences of the Royal family of Jaipur which is now converted into a Heritage Hotel under the Taj Group of Resorts and Palaces. Soak in Rajasthan’s “Pink City” in all its splendour! |
|Day 8 : We start our day by visiting the historic Amber Fort...arriving on an elephant! |
Return to hotel for another Cru Classe Exclusive! Explore the art and history of Tandoori Cuisine, in an intimate live demonstration. This is an interactive session, so get ready to get your hands working on skewering kebabs! We will do some Wine Tasting paired to food at this event. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and the hotel, indulging in their decadent spa or go shopping. Consider the Gem Palace, one of the world’s most exquisite locations to shop for gem stones! Make sure you return to the hotel for a late evening talk with a local historian who will help put into perspective, the history of India and the relevance of some of the monuments you will visit during your stay in India.
| ||Day 9 : Sleep in if you like, because we have an afternoon flight to catch to Jodhpur, also known as the “Blue City”. In Jodhpur we check in at a heritage property, the opulent Umaid Bhavan, one of the leading luxury properties of the world. This is also the principal residential palace of the current Maharaja of Jodhpur, His Highness The Maharaja Gaj Singh II. Part of this majestic palace is now managed under the luxury Taj Group of Resorts and Palaces as the Umaid Bhavan. |
| ||Day 10 : We start our day visiting the Cenotaphs and the historic Mehrangarh Fort in the morning. |
You could retire back at the hotel after that, or explore the shopping scene of Jodhpur. Just make sure you are back for a spectacular Cru Classe Exclusive that night to experience a true royal culinary experience!

Day 11: We're off to the check out the some of the villages on the The outskirts of Jodhpur . Later, we can go on a Sand Dune Safari. Alternative, you can choose to spend the day shopping in the city or simply relax at the hotel.

En route, we will stop at the Ranakpur Jain Temples. Carved from light marble, these late 14th century – mid 15th century temples are supported by over 1444 intricately carved marble pillars. On arrival at Udaipur, we check-in at the Oberoi Udaivilas, ranked #1 amongst the Best Leisure Hotels in Asia and the Indian Sub-continent, by Condé Nast Traveller, UK, Readers’ Traveller Awards 2010. Continue the rest of your day, relaxing at the hotel or indulging in their luxury spa. You could stroll the parameters of the property and discover an old hunting lodge overlooking the picturesque lake.

Return to the hotel that afternoon for yet another Cru Classe Exclusive. This time, we are invited into the hotels operational kitchen. Visit the heart of such a luxurious property’s culinary base and learn some traditional recipes directly from the maestros of Indian cuisine themselves! Relax for the rest of the day...or continue shopping!
|Day 14 : We fly to Goa! Check in at the Park Hyatt, a 5 star beachfront property Stay in by the pool, at the beach or drive out to Loutolim to view houses reminiscent of the bygone Portuguese era. |
| ||Day 15 : After breakfast, we drive off to Old Goa to visit the churches there, including ‘Se Cathedral’ the seat of the Archbishop of Goa and the renowned Basilica Bom Jesus which contains the relics of St. Francis Xavier. On our way back, we will stop at the Spice Plantation where you will see how some exotic spices are grown, harvested and ultimately put together into the recognizable spices you see in your kitchen. Enjoy a Vegetarian lunch at the Spice Plantation and head back to your hotel for a well deserved siesta! |
| ||Day 16 : When in Goa, live like the Goans!! Embrace their essence of a good life...”Sussegado!” Relax...take it easy! You are almost at the end of your tour so take the day off! Then get ready for the final Cru Classe Exclusive event...a memorable Goan dinner on the beach! Watch the sun set in gorgeous Goa with good company, good food and good times!! |
| ||Day 17 : We fly to Mumbai, India’s economic capital! Check-in at the Taj Palace, Mumbai’s flagship luxury 5 star hotel. This hotel is an architectural marvel combining Moorish, Oriental and Florentine styles, overlooking the Arabian Sea. This exclusive property of the Taj Group of Hotels and Palaces has hosted kings, queens, heads of State, Hollywood royalty, Maharajas, rock stars...and now you! You can stay in and enjoy your afternoon tea at the hotel of drive out to visit the Prince of Wales Museum. We can then stroll out for dinner at ‘Indigo’ the urban spot for celebrities and businessmen alike. |
| ||Day 18 : We start the day by visiting the Gateway of India which is right across the hotel. From there we go on a rather interesting boat ride over to Elephanta Caves. These caves contain rock cut stone sculptures of Hindu and Buddhist origin dating back to a time between the 5th and the 8th centuries. After returning, you can choose to rest or go shopping. Mumbai is a shopper’s Mecca! Spend the evening along Queen’s Necklace area in South Mumbai and have dinner at one of the many spots around the area. |
| ||Day 19 : Today, we have a date with the Dubbawalla! A “Dubbawalla is a “lunch box courier”, so to say. |
They are an organization over 100 years old and have been earned a Six Sigma performance rating from Forbes USA, which equated to a 99.9999...9% efficiency in performance. This group of scantly educated, but honest, hardworking men have been studied by various universities across the globe for their work ethic and success.
We can then head over to a ‘no-frills’ family owned Parsi restaurant called Britannia. Featured in Frommers, this restaurant offers the very BEST Persian cooking in the city! Be prepared for a treat that will be remembered for a long time! Spend the rest of the day packing and resting before your flight back home!
